The NHL, to this point, has been sloppy in their presenting of player value to the public.
(They keep track of EN but don't subtract for historical purposes/etc)
While statistically subtracting will show converted success, it's worth mentioning I'm not factoring in players letting other players down in pursuit of scoring in these statistics, so you're getting converted value, not full value.
Skaters: (Great setup, player whiffs. Player scores, Blue line infraction, No goal/etc)
Goalies: (Screens, Bad Turnovers, Breakaways/etc)
I should also point out that not all goals and assists are equal in difficulty or involvement in the play.
Stats companies would have to employ watchers, who chart those instead of just inflated stats as the season goes on.
Disclaimers...
Empty Netter: A goalie on the bench to give their team an extra skater while the opposing team scores into an empty net.
If a goalie is being pulled, heads to the bench & is caught out of position on the way back to the net, I count it as an empty netter, but use an * since the NHL credits the goal against the goalie & doesn't credit the goal scorer on their sole EN Goals list.
There are other situations where a goalie misplays the puck & leaves the net empty, but the goalie is fully responsible for the crease & not intending to head to the bench.
I'm not charting those in this blog.
There were 8150 goals scored. 477 (5.85%) were empty netters.
And now the pure Scoring vs Goalie w/o EN Stats you've been waiting for...

Disclaimers...
Per Game Stats are the best analyzing tool that I can provide at this current time.
Skaters get injured in games (sometimes early), penalties, benched &/or sat for trade purposes.
It could lower their converted stat "value" in this chart compared to full healthy usage.
Also, teammates & strategy factor into their success.
It's just a better PTS vs goalies record than what is currently provided by the NHL
(Someone could go even more in-depth than this)
But anyway, here's what you've most likely come to see...
Proof is in the links. I could do a video or picture montage of the goals or you could follow the log & check at NHL.com/ESPN.com because the NHL has their scoring summary missing in some.
